This lovely white hen of Art Pamplona's beat out a fine red cock of John Fife's for champion of the Hurricane show by 1/2 point. Alan Harsen was all smiles with this decision as he had bought the bird from Art before the judging. Art told me he figured this bird was his best chance to win the show and he was right.

This black splash young hen although not winning best of color was a first place winner for John Fife. A real sweetheart of a young hen. Congratulations John on a fine youngster in a color class that is shrinking and in need of more good birds.

Joe Hammons with our newest WATC member Lei Harden of Las Vegas. Joe is forever the great recruiter. Joe sent Lei home with a couple real nice birds. I also provided her with some whites. Hopefully she will raise some youngsters and participate in the shows this coming year.

Picture #1 shows the show hall at the Lakeside Rodeo Center.  This building was about twice the size of where we had been having at the Soares's residence.  Rent was $800 so all of our entry fee money (281 birds at $3.00 each)  went to the rent.  This building has very good lighting, many doors to open to have good ventilation and a kitchen that we can make use of.  Judging was at one end of the building, the birds in the center and the sell birds at the other end.  Our raffle table was against one side wall.  On the other side we had our awards table and auction items.  Plenty of free parking, a Burger King within walking distance and a freeway about l/2 mile away.
Yours in the fancy,

   Bob Nolan

This outstanding red baldhead of Art Pamplona's was a real eye catcher at the show with many people admiring it .  Best Red Baldhead beating out a very fine Holmberg red baldhead hen.

Bob Nolan saw this bird in Rick's loft as a squeeker and thought this was the best squeeker he seen on the whole Canadian/U.S. trip in June.  Nice to see how it matured out. Here is how Bob first seen it.

Well the 2007 Pageant of Pigeons is now in the history books.  With the winner of the WATC going to Art Pamplona with a great looking yellow hen,

Then the Reserve Champion went to Karen Fraire's outstanding black beauty.  A really super powerful bird.  Congratulations Karen on winning such a prestigious award. She is also winner of $200 in the black futurity way to go Karen.

Hello to all Fanciers,

I would like to send a personal note of thanks to everyone who set-
up, participated and helped clean up after the show. THANK YOU!! The
Pageant was everything it was advertised to be. Being able to see all
the different breeds of pigeons was amazing and awesome to say the
least.
Congratulations to Art Pamplona, Karen Fraire and John Fife for
reaching the Final Three. There is just outstanding high quality birds
throughout all of the color classes. Congratulations to all of the
Color Class winners, all of those birds were truly exceptional.
A special thanks to Remle, Sharon and Laurie for keeping up with all
of the paper work. I was really impressed with the "cool and calm" of
Remle in the midst of all of the noise, confusion and excitement, she
kept her cool and was very polite to everyone while trying to record
all of judging properly. Also a standing ovation for Greg Pola for
being able to keep the judging pace flowing nicely while having to
decide the placings on 540 high quality birds. Laurie and Jim's dinner
was a blast, thanks Alan and Penny. The banquet was fun also. Great
band!
In closing , I would just like to say my wife and I had a wonderful
time. For those of you who couldn't make it to the show, I'm sorry. I
would definitely encourage everyone to make the effort to attend the
next Pageant (I believe John Heppner is judging). You can read about it
in the bulletin and see the pictures, but it's not the same as being
there and feeling the excitement and seeing all of those beautiful
birds.
Take care everyone, hope to see you at the WATC Classic
